Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope (faith) without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word] (Hebrews 10:23)
Whereas, God's purpose concerning humankind find fulfillment in our being: 01) A welcoming, safe fellowship of churches and ministries, within an Affirming, Sacramental, Charismatic and Evangelical within the Independent Old Catholic and Liberal Catholic traditions. 02) The open arms of Christ to wounded and alienated Christian seeking reconciliation and restoration to progressive and affirming Sacramental Congergence churches. 03) Vessels, set apart to proclaim the full gospel of Jesus Christ, to worship, fellowship, educate, minister, pray and evangelize. 04) Bridges of fellowship and education to other traditional, mainline ministries which in the past have not been inclusive. Whereas, there is an abundant outpouring of the Holy Ghost upon all flesh (Acts 2:17),
we would make provision for their care and ministry by:
Providing a spiritual foundation of tenets of belief.
Providing an environment conducive to holy living within the Independent Old/Liberal Catholic tradition.
Providing a social climate that encourages and supports monogamous relationships and solid family units.
Providing an atmosphere of Spirit-led and anointed, scripturally sound convergence worship within the Independent Old/Liberal Catholic Tradition.
Providing an church and association unified in purpose to Embrace, Encourage, Educate and Evangelize.
Providing a "city of refuge" for the healing of those who have been abused and hurt in other churches.
We therefore gladly accept the solemn responsibility that has been committed to us, and assemble ourselves as the “Old Catholic Church/Liberal Catholic Church-Charismatic Rite or convergence church”.
We believe in ourselves by calling ourselves progressive Christians, we mean we are Christians who…
1. Believe that following the path and teachings of Jesus can lead to an awareness and experience of the Sacred and the Oneness and Unity of all life; 2. Affirm that the teachings of Jesus provide but one of many ways to experience the Sacredness and Oneness of life, and that we can draw from diverse sources of wisdom in our spiritual journey; 3. Seek community that is inclusive of ALL people, including but not limited to:
Conventional Christians and questioning skeptics,
Believers and agnostics,
Women and men,
Those of all sexual orientations and gender identities,
Those of all classes and abilities;
4. Know that the way we behave towards one another is the fullest expression of what we believe; 5. Find grace in the search for understanding and believe there is more value in questioning than in absolutes; 6. Strive for peace and justice among all people; 7. Strive to protect and restore the integrity of our Earth; 8. Commit to a path of life-long learning, compassion, and selfless love.
Our Statement of Faith
We believe that Jesus is the Christ and our personal savior.
We believe in The Holy Trinity.
We believe in the Universality of all Mankind, thus we hold to Affirmation of Faith as set forth within the Liberal Catholic tradition which states this: "We believe that God is Love, and Power, and Truth, and Light; that perfect justice rules the world; that all His sons shall one day reach His feet, however far they stray. We hold the Fatherhood of God, the Brotherhood of mankind; we know that we do serve Him best when best we serve our brother man. So shall His blessing rest on us and peace for evermore."
We believe in the historical creeds and profess them, which are the Apostles and Nicene Creed.
We believe that Jesus loves us all unconditionally and through His death and resurrection, we are brought to new life.
We believe the Catholic Church is the same united Church that has been in existence for over the past 2000 years.
We believe God is the Trinitarian Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in 7 Sacraments (direct bestowals of God’s Grace through physical means) Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation (Confession), Holy Orders, Holy Matrimony and Anointing of the Sick. We believe that we are justified by Grace alone & Saved by Christ Alone – and our justification is made perfect and complete through works – both acting together.
We believe that the Catholic (literally, “Universal”) Church was founded by Jesus Christ around 30 AD and believe that all Holy Orders as well as the ecclesiastical hierarchy (bishops, priests, and deacons and minor orders of porter, reader, exorcist, acolyte & sub-deacon) are open to both men and women.
We believe that celibacy of those in Holy Orders is a personal decision.
We believe the Eucharist is the true presence of Christ’s body, blood, soul and divinity under the appearance of bread and wine.
We believe we are united to the mystical body of Christ in Baptism expressed through the Eucharist, and unified as the Catholic Church through the bonds of Apostolic Succession. It is not necessary to follow the Pope as the head of the Church to be Catholic..
We believe and accept the doctrines of the Seven Early Church Ecumenical Councils.
We recognize the Early Church Fathers, their writings and appreciate the wisdom and guidance of the early Church Fathers.
We appreciate culturally diverse people and we welcome all those who are seeking a spiritual comfort.
We believe Sacred Scripture contains 73 books and are supernaturally inspired that is found in The Douay–Rheims Bible and the Original King James Bible of of 1611 with Apocrypha
We do not discriminate against anyone regardless of sexual orientation, race, gender, marital status, or age.
We reject any doctrine that excludes anyone.
We do perform commitment and marriage ceremonies for those members who are gay and lesbian.
We do NOT discriminate against ANYONE regardless of sexual orientation, gender, race, age, or ethnicity.
We believe that abortion and euthanasia is the taking of human life and should be avoided. However, each scenario is different and we do NOT condemn those who have participated in these acts. Rather, we try to comfort, understand and pray for those who are in need of help.
We believe in the responsible stewardship of our planet.
We believe in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
We believe in the sanctity of marriage and commitment ceremonies, however we believe that Jesus is merciful and those who have been divorced and/or remarried are offered the Sacraments of the church.
We believe that family planning is a personal decision.
We believe and follow Holy Scripture to the extent in which it was written regarding a Theological and Historical Level.
We believe in the Scriptural teachings of Jesus Christ.
That the Holy Spirit is at work today through spiritual gifts and signs through the Church.
We believe in the three Major Historic Branches of the Church, the sacramental (expression ones faith in Christ in worship and ritual) , the Evangelical (preaching the word and reaching out to the lost), And the charismatic (spirit-filled in one expression of the faith) while still being affirming which means that everyone is welcome to the Table of Christ and we reject any doctrine that denies those who seek him.
